Manager/Supervisor
Position Overview: The Subrogation Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of subrogation professionals to ensure effective recovery of claims from third parties. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, and optimizing the subrogation process to maximize recoveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of subrogation specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Set team goals and performance metrics, and monitor progress towards achieving them.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss cases, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
- Subrogation Process Oversight:
- Oversee the investigation, negotiation, and settlement of subrogation claims.
- Review and approve claim files to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and company standards.
- Ensure that all subrogation activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the subrogation process.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and legal, to streamline operations and improve recovery rates.
- Legal Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure that subrogation practices comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
- Prepare and analyze reports on subrogation activities, recovery rates, and team performance for senior management.
- Vendor and Client Relations:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, such as collection agencies and legal firms, to facilitate the recovery process.
- Act as a liaison between the subrogation team and clients or other internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Law, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in subrogation, claims, or related insurance fields.
- Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of subrogation principles, insurance law, and claims processing.
- Proficient in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in insurance or subrogation (e.g., CPCU, AIC) are an asset.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position typically based in an office environment, with potential for remote work depending on company policy.
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, vendors, or attend industry conferences.
