SCOPE:

As a Casualty Litigation Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling bodily injury claims arising from property and casualty insurance policies. This role involves analyzing the circumstances of accidents, assessing the extent of bodily injuries, and determining the appropriate compensation for claimants. The role will also be required to manage litigation related to bodily injury claims, working closely with legal teams, claimants, and other relevant parties. This position offers a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.

DUTIES:

  • Conduct thorough investigations of bodily injury claims to establish liability and determine the extent of injuries.
  • Collect and review medical records, police reports, witness statements, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assess the validity of claims and determine coverage limits and policy applicability.
  • Identify high exposure claims for litigation round table.
  • Coordinate with legal teams and outside counsel to manage litigated claims.
  • Prepare and collaborate with the legal team for court proceedings, depositions, and arbitration hearings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, their legal representatives, or third-party claimants.
  • Analyze medical reports, treatment plans, and other documentation to determine fair and reasonable settlement amounts.
  • Ensure settlements comply with policy terms and legal regulations.
  • Communicate with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and other relevant parties to provide updates on claim status and resolution efforts.
  • Address inquiries, concerns, and requests for information in a timely and professional manner.

  • Stay updated on industry regulations, legal precedents, and best practices related to bodily injury claims.
  • Ensure all claims handling activities adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Adjusters license required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of experience in handling bodily injury claims or similar role.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty regulations, industry practices, and laws.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant claims management software and tools.
