SCOPE:

As a PD Litigation Adjuster , you will be for managing and resolving comprehensive, collision and property damage claims in litigation. This role involves evaluating and investigating claims, collaborating with legal teams, and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings. The PD Litigation Adjuster must possess a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance, legal processes, and negotiation skills. This position offers a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.

DUTIES:

 

  • Conduct thorough investigations of property damage claims to determine liability and assess the extent of damages.
  • Analyze policy coverage and applicable laws to make accurate claim determinations.
  • Utilize various resources, including photos, reports, statements, and expert opinions, to gather relevant information.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to develop strategies for defense.
  • Participate and collaborate in the preparation for court hearings, depositions, and mediations to represent the company's interests.
  • Prepare and submit legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and responses.
  • Engage in negotiations with claimants, attorneys, and other parties involved to reach fair and cost-effective settlements.
  • Evaluate settlement proposals based on liability and damages assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, ensuring all relevant information is properly documented.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and legal partners.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance in claims handling.
  • Implement company policies and procedures to maintain ethical and legal standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining open and transparent communication with policyholders, claimants, and other stakeholders.
  • Address inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with legal professionals, including attorneys and in-house counsel, to strategize on claim resolutions.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Underwriting and Legal, to share insights and improve claims processes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance claims handling efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry trends.


EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Adjusters license required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of experience in handling property damage claims.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance policies, regulations, industry practices, and laws.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant claims management software and tools.
