Scope
United Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced Bodily Injury (BI) Litigation Adjuster to join our dynamic Claims team in Georgia. This position is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex third-party bodily injury claims that are in litigation or pending legal action. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Georgia tort law, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with defense counsel, plaintiffs’ attorneys, and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of litigated BI claims from inception through resolution, including arbitration, mediation, and trial preparation
  • Analyze medical records, accident reports, and legal filings to determine liability and evaluate damages
  • Collaborate with defense counsel on litigation strategy and case management
  • Attend and participate in mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Georgia insurance laws and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in claims systems
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, claimants, insureds, and internal departments
  • Recommend reserves and settlement authority based on thorough analysis and policy terms

Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience handling BI claims, with a minimum of 1 year focused on litigated files
  • Active Georgia Property & Casualty Adjuster License (required)
  • Strong knowledge of Georgia legal and insurance regulations related to bodily injury
  • Experience managing high-severity injury claims and attorney-represented cases
  • Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and litigation strategy
  • Proficiency in claims software (e.g., Guidewire, Mitchell, ClaimCenter) and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex and high-volume caseloads
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
